CVS 5/19 list
I'm also thinking about maybe doing 2 transactions (I know, CRAZY!!) I'd do everything but the Sparkle paper towels and then do just the paper towels.
So it would look like this:
Buy (1) 2 liter Diet Coke- $0.99
Use (1) Diet Coke coupon from Coupon machine- $0.25
Cost- $0.74
Buy (4) Clear Shampoos- $5 each
Use (2) B1G1 Coupons from this week's coupons- $5.99 (auto-deduct)
Use (1) $2 off $8 Shampoo purchase from CVS Machine.
Cost- $1.50 each (also getting $5 back)
Buy (2) Sally Hansen Nail Polish- $5 (approximation)
Use (2) $4/1 coupons from a couple weeks ago
Cost- $0.99 each (also getting $5 back)
Buy (6) Skippy Peanut Butters- $2.50 each
Use no coupons
Cost- $2.50 each (also getting $5 back, and I only use Skippy)
I will also use $15 in ECBs from last week.
My total will be $8.74 OOP
I will get $15 back
Then I will buy my Sparkle:
Buy (6) Sparkle paper towels- $5 each
Use (6) $1 off 1 coupons that I ordered (also a printable)
Cost- $4 each
Use $15 ECBs from transaction 1
My total will be $9 OOP
I will get $10 back
Seems like a much better deal that way. And if I magically get a $/$$ I can use it on the 2nd transaction. I might also get another $5 from Beauty Club, and that would be cool.

Burnout
Or I don't want to cut out coupons. Either one. I really need an army of children. Not my children (I don't have any and will never have any), but other people's kids. Anyone want to volunteer their free labor?
Guess not.
Here's my CVS list. Don't really have anything good for Shaw's. Sorry guys..

Ibotta
I don't really understand it, and until recently, my smartphone hated it (yay new battery!). But today, after I went to CVS, I noticed that I could get 75 cents for the Schick Hydro razor I bought.
While it doesn't work at my grocery store, I think it's great for my new weekly trips to CVS!
Try it out. 75 cents is 75 cents you didn't have before!
Ugh, regional coupons
That was my morning. I didn't get the Jergens coupon (that I really wanted) or the Hawaiian Tropic coupon (eh, I'm ok with that). So I re-did my list to be way better. But then I went to the store, where prices were a bit higher than expected, but here's my final list!
It's pretty exciting. I got $12 more back than I spent.

It's Mega SwagBucks FRIDAY!!
Have you ever?
Last week, during Kohl's doorbuster deals, I convinced myself to buy a Ninja Pro blender. I kinda wanted one, and I've been on a smoothie kick, and my tiny Hamilton-Beach 12 oz just doesn't have the power I want.
The deal was good, and I convinced myself to buy it. Yesterday, it came in the mail and I went to register it. I was too lazy to find the model number on the blender, so I checked the Kohl's website. Where it was priced cheaper than when I bought mine. Not much. After the 20% off coupon, it's like $5 cheaper. But that's $5! I fight for less than that with my coupons!
And that's how I found myself emailing customer support (probably should've called) and complaining about this. Not that I really want to be reimbursed for the $5, but I find it somewhat offensive to be offering something at such a lower price before my order even gets to me.
Hopefully something will happen. Who knows?

Why do I coupon?
I coupon, and read personal finance articles, and have a savings account because I never want to be in the situation some of my female family members are in. I never want to rely on my husband or fiance to take care of my money.
I have an aunt who lost her house after her drug-addicted husband used the mortgage money for whatever. He borrowed thousands of dollars from family and now they're homeless and have no way of paying it back. Or refuse to. But that's family drama.
And then there's my sister, who is incredibly responsible and frugal, but her husband is not. He is a salesman, and apparently uses his salesman power to convince them to buy cars they can't afford and do things that are out of their means. So now, my sister is constantly trying to figure out how to make more money so they aren't in debt.
But I refuse to be them. Yeah, I'm not living on my own, but I'm also not swimming in student or credit card debt. I can pay my bills, and I know how to live within my means.
So that's why I coupon and learn to manage my money. Because I'm never going to live at the mercy of someone else.
EDIT: My cousin just realized that she's $8,000 in debt, not the original $2,000 she thought she was. I feel like this money mismanagement is genetic. Not. Me.

Uh oh, someone wants a writing sample...
Just in case, I'm going to be super entertaining and political for once. Ok, not that political, but I do hate Massholes. So thank you Massachusetts, this post is for you!
So a couple days ago, I'm surfing Facebook, trying not to comment/share every funny thing out there, but I did come across a great article (found here) about Scott Brown.
For those of you who don't know, NH and MA don't really get along. Massachusetts drivers suck and they have this thing called sales tax. I'm not a Masshole, but I'm sure they think I'm some weird gun toting drunk hippie driving without a seatbelt. LIVE FREE OR DIE!!
My first reaction to hearing about Scott Brown was:
Guess what Scott Brown? We didn't want Romney and his 2nd (6th?) home and we don't want you either. We have our own crazy people (looking at you, Bill O'Brien).
Hopefully he'll shut up for a couple years and I can continue my Scott Brown-free life. Here's to 2016!

Ultimate Swagbucks List
Now I love it.
Why the change of heart? Well, first I realized that I could get gift cards (yes!) and that it was WAY easier to get swagbucks than I got. And I got way more responsible with money and time.
So I'm always wondering what the best deal is for my Swagbucks. I don't want to waste them, and I'm sure you don't either. So I'm going to make a list and see what the best deal is. Currently I love $5 Amazon cards, but let's see how it plays out.
Item Price SB per $1
$5 Amazon Gift card 450 SB 90 SB
Most other $5 gift cards 500 SB 100 SB
All $10 gift cards 1000 SB 100 SB
All $15 gift cards 1500 SB 100 SB
All $25 gift cards 2500 SB 100 SB
$50 Cabela's gift card* 4650 SB 93 SB
$50 Rhapsody gift card* 4799 SB 96 SB
Other $50 gift cards 5000 SB 100 SB
All $100 gift cards 10000 SB 100 SB
*On sale, so price could change
Seems like I'm right, which is upsetting. You'd think you'd get a price break after awhile.

Shaw's 4/5-4/11
As you notice, I'm kinda OC about my shopping lists. I also have a random cell in Excel that calculates my % saved (just with coupons, Shaw's includes the sales in it's percentage). You'll notice that I have 2 total cells. I'm sorry. The $33 is the total amount of coupons, and $19.24 will be my out of pocket cost.
Note: Edy's is BOGO. I was told that it will be $5. To make my spreadsheet work, I used $2.50. That is so that I know how many I need to buy without screwing up my coupons I will use.
2nd Note: I will also be getting a $3 catalina for buying floss. That will make the net cost of floss 14 cents each.

Do you get this way? I spent EVERY day last week in a store. I know I'm saving money, but it was just getting ridiculous.
So today, I say no! And tomorrow I'll be snowed in. MUAHAHAHAHA!!!
On Wednesday, I might go to Target since I'll already be right there.
But after that? I say NO!
I'll try to post my Target list, if there's anything good.
2nd Shaws Trip
I went with my mom, which is never good news. She's an impulse buyer, and I end up literally paying for it.
Obnoxious.
Shaw's Trip
(6) 7 Up Tens $1
-(6) $.75 off 1 (Do not double on coupon)= $0.25 each (1.50 total)
(3) Dole Frozen fruit- $2
- (3) $.75 off 1= $0.50 ea ($1.50 total)
(1) Koru Yogurt- $1
- (1) $.75 off 1 (double to 1.50!!)= $0.50 MM
(1) Garlic Bread (REALLY???? AHH!!)- 1.99
NO COUPON!!! GRRRR
I also used a $.50 catalina from earlier.
Total= $4.49
My cashier did something weird, and I only end up paying $4.14. I think he forgot a .75 off coupon, but included a .30 that doubled? I'm so confused. I'm happy I didn't end up paying like 6x more though.

My Shaw's Trip (or how I grocery shop)
Every Sunday like I have my entire life, I wake up Sunday morning and go grocery shopping. The only difference is that now I collect my coupons first.
I still buy store brand bread, eggs, meat, chips (my dad goes through like 3 bags at work. I literally can't stock up on them), lunch meat, and sliced cheese. If I get a good deal on any of those products, it's good, but I'm going to buy them anyways, deal or not.
So here are my good deals I bought:
(2) Fresh Express Salad- $.99 with $10 purchase
- (2) $.55 off 1 (double to 1.10)= +$.10 moneymaker each
(4) Wise Chips (value shize= HUGE!!!)- BOGO $4.99
- (2) $.75 off 2 (double to $1.50) = $1.75 each
(4) Bumblebee Tuna- $.50 with $10 purchase
no coupons, just good deal
(4) Pineapple slices- $1 each and a $.50 catalina coupon if you buy 4?
-(2) $.50 off 2 coupon (double to $1)= $.50 each (.38 net cost with catalina)
(4) Dole Single serve frozen fruit- $2
-(4) $.75 off 1 coupon (double to $1.50)= $.50
I also have to go back and buy 3 more. Shaw's only allows 4 doubling coupons in one transaction. So I'll go back, buy 3 more and the deal will be something like this:
(7) Dole Frozen fruit cups
- (7) $.75 off 1 coupon (double to $1.50)= $.50 each or $3.50 total
- SAVINGSTAR coupon $5 off a $14 dole purchase (over multiple trips)= 2.50 moneymaker.
I love making money off deals.
My Eventual Trip to Walmart
So I have to sneak in before work. Yay?
So this is my list. It may change. Maybe less, certainly not more:
(10) Gold Bond lotions (travel-like size)= $ .97 each
- (10) $1 off 1 coupons= $.03 MM
(10) Neutrogena Bars (this is the ??? one) = About $2.50
- (5) $5 off 2 coupons= Breaking even?
(4) EcoTools Bathing puff= $.87 ea
- (4) $1 off 1 coupons= $.13 MM ea
(4) L'Oreal Advanced Shampoo= $.97 each
- (2) $2 off 1 coupon= $1.03 MM ea
- (2) $1 off 1 coupon= $.03 MM ea
(2) Olay bars (this are a ?? too)= $.97 ea
- (1) $2 off 2 coupon= $.03 MM ea
(2) Bic 12 ct Razors= $2.68 ea
- (2) $3 off 1 coupons= $.32 MM ea
(6) Old El Paso Seasonings= $.78 ea
- (2) $.60 off 3 coupons= $.58 each
My Total Should Be... (drumroll!!!!!!!)
a 16 cent money maker.
I should go back to the drawing board. Maybe pick up some more 20 cent seeds.

Spent $30.87, saved $72.
AWESOME.
(sorry about the mess)
Savings
I just deposited $250 into my South Africa fund. Why?
I’m not really sure. I know it was $25 for my gift cards, $6.99 for a rebate, $10 for another rebate, and I guess the rest so I feel responsible. And to cover the change I will eventually deposit into my bank account. I have a lot of change. At least $30.
Maybe I’m not that responsible. Thank goodness I’m not in any real debt.

CVS Challenge, Week 1+2
So I lied. I went to CVS last week too.
I bought a Thermacare thing and 4 things of M&Ms. It was a total of $5.
This week I bought a 3d Whitestrips. It was supposed to be free, but of course my CVS is whack. $34-$10 CVS coupon- $7 coupon- $6.29 in CVS rewards (ECBs)= $11 and some change. And I’ll submit it for a $10 mail in rebate. I will not include that $10 in my CVS challenge, but will put it in my savings, and put it in my South Africa fund.
I have $34 left on my card. NO ECBs.
Awesome Deal at LivingSocial
I love Sam’s Club. Not because they take coupons or anything, but because I can get cheap gas and blackberries for cheap.
I love berries.
So what’s the deal?
$45 for a membership (usually $40), a $20 gift card, and some coupons for free food. It’s awesome.
Mars Coupons
So I have these coupons for B2G1 Mars candy bars. I have some that are like for the normal ones (yay!) and some for the bigger ones (where in hell can I find those?).
The real question is where can I use my coupons for the best price?
CVS has some candy bars for B1G1 for $.25. I have no idea what price that would be.
I think Shaws has some of the random snickers for BOGO. The coupon does list Snickers, but not the random flavor ones. AHHH!!
I would like to use them at Shaws. I also have a $3 off $30 and a $5 off $50, so I’d love to combine coupons.
Does anyone have a better suggestion?
Hot Deal
This is one of my favorite deals at Shaw’s this week.
Progresso Recipe Starters are $1.50 each.
Buy 2 and $3 off fresh chicken (which is about $3 a lb right now.)
Use 2 .50 off 1 coupons (which double up to a dollar) for the recipe starters and get….
2 Recipe Starters and a pound of chicken for $1!

Catching up
I feel like all of my friends are married or about to get married. So I’d like to take this moment, and announce to the world the top 11 reasons (because top 10 lists are for cowards, haha) why I love my boyfriend:
1. He always makes me laugh.
2. He isn’t crazy, and therefore keeps my crazy in check.
3. He totally kept his cool when I cried in front of him. Twice.
4. He totally gets my campaign jokes.
5. I can trust him with anything
6. We like the same shows.
7. He grows a fantastic campaign beard.
8. He sings to me when I’m tired, sick, or sad.
9. He is the sweetest, most caring person I know.
10. He has a really goofy smile when he looks at me. It’s the most innocently sweet expression I’ve ever seen.
11. He doesn’t mind my death grip on his arm.
Amazon: How do I save money?
I love Amazon’s Coupons. Combine them with subscribe and save (which you can cancel once you get your product) and you get an awesome deal. Do it with 5 non-baby products and instead of only getting 5% off, you get 15%. AWESOME!!
Try it, love it.

The Last Doodle
Hey everyone,
In an effort to make my blog more focused, I’m going to discontinue Doodle of the Day. Thank you so much for your support.
On that note, I’m going to make more of an effort to post Amazon deals, Shaw’s matchups, and CVS (As I’m going to try the CVS challenge!!).
Again, thank you for your support.

CVS Challenge
I’ve never been one to coupon on CVS. Mostly because I hate the current location. In my dream world, I’d have a friend who go with me at midnight to my 24 hour one and help me out.
Instead I have a $50 gift card.
Eh, good enough. I’m going to see how far $50 will go at CVS. Currently I also have $5 in ECBs (my dad liked the price of soda), so I have to start soon. We’ll se how it goes. I’m going to try to go every sunday and post a pic of what I got and my total.
Keep me accountable guys!
200th post
In honor of my 200th post, I’m going to post some of my dreams and aspirations. Sorry darling BF, but you ruined a moment, so I’m sharing stuff with the world that might be a shock to you.
Don’t. Ruin. Sweet. Moments.
I would love to own an urban farm. A backyard full of potatoes and garlic and lettuce. A beautiful trellis of berries waiting to be picked, but also close enough to a Dunkin Donuts so I don’t feel so alone*
I just think it would be so nice to be more connected with my food. To see it grow and nurture something delicious.
Beautiful.
*Where I’m from there are at least 2 Dunkin Donuts on every major road. There were 3 in a 2 mile radius of my house. I love Dunkins. I moved to KCMO for 2 months and had a panic attack when I couldn’t get a strawberry coolatta.

Here is a schedule of my favorite shows. TMI, I know.
Love it anyways.
I really want a new camera
But I have a perfectly good one already. And my smartphone (when it doesn’t hate me) works surprisingly well. Pictures on my blog? From my smartphone. Jealous?
Until I get around to buying a new camera, I am going to get a new SD card. I take way too many photos all the time (I like to remember things), so I need a big one, so I’m going to get this one: Transcend 32 GB Class 10 SDHC Flash Memory Card (TS32GSDHC10E). Super excited!

When it's Rally Season,
I want your cans, I want to sing obnoxiously, and I really really want to look around campus and cry bout how much I miss it.
I miss Russell Sage a lot.
I need...
I need a better way to save money. Like not just being like, I saved n amount with coupons, but actually taking money out of my wallet and putting it away. I need to save money quick for my trip. I’m so excited.
Thank you so much. I appreciate any funds and your patience as I rant about things.

Jack Shepard, Lost
Disconnected
Do you ever kinda wish you could be less connected to the world. That sometimes you can really enjoy the silence?
I have a love/hate relationship with my smartphone. I clearly use my phone more than the rest of the family combined. I call it getting more for my dollar, but it’s really more of an addiction.
So when my mom is threatening to stop paying for my phone. I don’t mind, because a) I should be paying for my own phone and b) I halfway don’t want a phone. Unfortunately, it actually saves us both money if I stay on her plan. If only she’d let me pay my share.
I’d love to shut off my phone for awhile. I wasn’t alive for it, but there was a time when people barely had home phones, and I’d like to survive like that. I’m going to South Africa for (hopefully) 2 weeks. That’ll be a nice break.

My big mouth
My big mouth is going to get me in trouble one day. Mostly because I have strong opinions. If I ever go to jail because of it, please know it is my own damn fault.
On that note, I’ve been reading some blogs on ethical couponing. I love couponing, and I’m not allowed to have a big stockpile, so I think the most of any product I’ve bought at one time is 12 (I have 3 computers, 2 coupons per, and it was a coupon that was off 2). It was sauce though and there were tons.
However, shelf-clearing is just obnoxious. There is nothing worse than going in and there are absolutely no products left. But I really hate when there are only two. Then I have to think about whether or not I want to take the last 2 products. Do I REALLY need 2 free pastas? REALLY?
When I first started couponing, I took a class. I don’t suggest it. I learned nothing new, except for that the grocery store near my grandma’s is like 12 cents cheaper. I knew most of the information beforehand, and it wasn’t really worth the $20. The teacher also used a coupon unethically (on my compass, you can decide for yourself). Our store frequently has coupons that are like 5/$50 or 10/$100, and they state right on there that it is after all other offers. She told us that if we handed it over first it would still work. Yeah, it still works, but is it right?
Every time I use one of those coupons, I think about it.

So... um... sorry
I wrote a post that was kinda mean. I’m sorry. I’m judging your wedding, but I definitely care about everyone and enjoy your taste. Because of your wedding, I get to see how it all works. (And I will buy something off your registry. With a coupon!).
So here are some of my ideas (thanks pinterest). Feel free to judge them as you like.
1. Instead of programs, I love the idea of a magazine. Something with a program, but puzzles and fun facts to keep everyone entertained. I think it’s fun, but it’s not so crazy that I’d feel weird about it being in a formal setting (if that’s what I decide).
2. I want to do a first look/before ceremony pictures. Again, my family is huge, and I’d love to get most of those pictures out of the way so I can spend more time with my guests. Because at the end of the day, I’m having a reception to spend time with you. I do understand that it might not be possible (hey grandma, do you mind spending an extra hour BEFORE the wedding for pictures? Oh, and the rest of the family?).
3. On that note, I also want to have my wedding early in the day. I hate waiting around. I think I can achieve this by doing pictures early though.
4. I want to do save the dates with little pictures for your calendar. I think it’s cute and helpful.
5. For my invitations, I’m going to print myself. I also plan on making like 60 trips to Michaels/AC Moore to take advantage of their coupons for invitations. I’m really a couponer at heart.
6. I’d also like to buy all of the food for my wedding (using coupons), but I probably can’t. Mostly because all of the people who could cater, I don’t want working at my wedding. I also like the idea of a sit down meal, so this doesn’t seem possible. But if you want to do it, lemme know. I’ll go couponing for you!.
7. This post is really for the first post I did. I want a smaller wedding party. Mostly because I’ll be the last single person of my friends and I’m one of the younger cousins. And absolutely, absolutely, NO FLOWER GIRL. Sorry, I want to be the focus of everyone’s attention.
Judge me as you will. BRING IT!
I made a delicious caramel frappacino.
And I don’t even care if I spelled it wrong.
I previously made a bunch of ice cubes using dark roast k-cups on the smallest cup size setting, but I wanted something extra creamy this morning.
My recipe:
5 of the ice cubes
maybe a 1/2 cup of light cream
A couple squirts of caramel sundae sauce
Some extra cream because my blender hates ice.
Blend until the ice is crushed. Winning.

So again, all of my friends are getting married.
And I’m judging all of their weddings. My sister had a big wedding, my friends are having smaller weddings, and I use each one to decide how I want mine to be.
General Stuff:
My cousin’s wedding had a ton of misbehaving kids. Like running around the couple during their first dance. Makes me think: No kids at my wedding. Sorry nephews.
I like the idea of dry weddings, but let’s face it. I’m walking the alcoholic line. However, I think cash bars are tacky. It’s like, COME TO MY WEDDING, but pay for your own overpriced drinks! At my sister’s first wedding, soft drinks were covered, but cash bar for alcohol. I like that. So it’s between that and completely no alcohol at my wedding.
Also, what is it with people putting their registry information on their invitations? That is just straight up rude. Maybe I was just brought up that you never expect things like presents. So no registry information on my invitations. Ask if you want to know.
Wedding websites? I like it. I’m not sure if I’d do it. If I do, that’s where you can find my registry information.
Seating charts? Totally going to happen. Yeah, it seems nice to be like, sit where ever, but I have a huge family. Like my immediate family takes up an entire table. And there’s nothing worse than charging in to make sure we have a table. If you know there’s a family like that, I suggest that at minimum, you reserve a table for them.
Oh yeah, and my opinion on this eloping and then having a potluck reception afterwards and still expecting a gift? Rude. Sorry, I just had to put that out there. I understand that you want to share your day, but it’s ridiculous. Have a quick backyard wedding.
On that note, I’m kinda forced to have a big wedding. My family: parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, uncles is 50 people. Never mind the other distant family members I’d like to share my wedding with. And my friends.
It’s posts like these that I think, oh my poor boyfriend doesn’t realize what he’s getting into.
